Terry Crews faces criticism over ‘black supremacy’ tweet

Actor Terry Crews sparked controversy about Social Networking Sunday after he tweeted about the requirement for all people to come together to defeat racism from the U.S.

“Defeating White supremacy without White folks generates Black supremacy. Equality is the reality. Like it or not, we’re in this together,” he tweeted.

The announcement was met with Criticism online. Tyler James Williams, who starred with Terry Crews in”Everybody Hates Chris,” responded to his tweet by stating that he knows Crews’ heart, but”no one is calling 4 black supremacy and also the story that we are hurts our people”

 

The Independent newspaper reported that Terry Crews clarified his conversation in his response to Williams.

“I know, Tyler. I had been Not saying Black supremacy is different because it doesn’t. I am saying if both Black and Whites don’t continue to work together–awful attitudes and resentments can make a dangerous self-righteousness. That is all.”

 

Protests and, at times, unrest throughout the nation. Protesters have called for new liability in policing and called on the nation to reexamine itself when it comes to opportunities for minority communities.

Crews have submitted about Floyd’s case previously. Shortly after the May 25 departure, he said on Instagram his heart was”broken”
